Album Notes & Community Reviews

Herbert von Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker perform Sibelius' Symphonies Nos. 4 to 7 alongside the tone poems 'Der Schwan von Tuonela' and 'Tapiola', drawn from their Deutsche Grammophon recordings. Karajan was among the composer's most persistent champions, and these readings document his austere, long-lined approach to the Finnish symphonist.
