Album Notes & Community Reviews
Drawn from the recordings Broonzy made for Folkways during the 1950s, including live radio and concert performances, the collection was assembled with liner notes by Smithsonian Folkways archivist Jeff Place. The Penguin Guide to Blues Recordings judged it the best collection of his late-period music, and its programme runs from 'Key to the Highway' to his civil rights testament 'Black, Brown and White'.
