Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released by Decca Records as a 10-inch LP, this compilation gathers some of her most iconic, string-laden recordings from the mid-to-late 1940s. The collection showcases her increasingly emotive, behind-the-beat phrasing during a highly successful but personally turbulent era of her career.
