Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released years after Buddy Holly's tragic death, this archival compilation unearths primitive, acoustic demo recordings made in the mid-1950s with his early musical partner, Bob Montgomery. The tracks reveal a heavy bluegrass and traditional country influence before his transition to electric rockabilly. To modernize the sound, producer Norman Petty controversially overdubbed new backing instrumentation onto the original raw tapes.
