Album Notes & Community Reviews

The fourteen tracks centre on his March 1940 Chicago session for Vocalion, cut with Washboard Sam on washboard. 'Fixin' to Die Blues', first recorded at those sessions, entered the Grammy Hall of Fame, and Bukka White's bottleneck playing on a National steel guitar defined his later revival career.
