Album Notes & Community Reviews

Assembling the entirety of the short-lived Chicago quintet's scattered output, 'Analphabetapolothology' is the definitive text of the Midwest emo movement. The compilation encapsulates their frantic, technically proficient instrumentation juxtaposed with Tim Kinsella's erratic, stream-of-consciousness vocal performances. Functioning as a posthumous retrospective, it charts the chaotic adolescent energy that would soon branch into prolific indie mainstays like American Football and Joan of Arc.
