Innovator: Soundtrack for the Tenth Planet

Album Notes & Community Reviews

This essential retrospective compiles the groundbreaking 12-inch singles produced by Derrick May under various aliases like Rhythim Is Rhythim during the late 1980s. Highlighting monumental anthems like 'Strings of Life', the collection demonstrates his peerless ability to fuse the cold, mechanical precision of European synth-pop with the soaring, emotional warmth of American soul. It is universally regarded as a foundational textbook mapping the architectural birth of Detroit techno.
