Album Notes & Community Reviews

Meticulously restoring his legendary 1920s sessions, this release compiles the complete, highly influential early recordings of the Appalachian banjo player. His unique, heavily syncopated playing style successfully merged traditional mountain folk with the raw structure of early African American blues. The collection is highly prized by historians and provided crucial source material for the 1960s folk revival.
