Curated by Mike Patton for his Ipecac imprint, this compilation explicitly bypasses the Italian maestro's famous spaghetti western scores in favor of his most deeply experimental, avant-garde soundtrack work from the 1970s. Highlighting his use of dissonant free-jazz, terrifying atonal strings, and bizarre psychedelic rock, it focuses primarily on his scores for obscure Giallo and horror films. It reveals the truly radical, uncompromising edge of his cinematic genius.
