Album Notes & Community Reviews

These performances were cut as piano rolls between 1917 and 1921, the years when Eubie Blake first recorded for Path茅 and Ampico and composed 'Charleston Rag'. Issued during the ragtime revival that followed Blake's 1969 Columbia comeback album, the LP preserves his touch exactly as the rolls captured it, with no studio session in between.
