Album Notes & Community Reviews

This twenty-two track set draws on the Paramount and Victor sessions Stokes cut with guitarist Dan Sane and fiddler Will Batts in the late 1920s. It includes 'Downtown Blues' and 'Mr. Crump Don't Like It', cornerstones of the Memphis blues guitar style Stokes is credited with fathering.
