Album Notes & Community Reviews

Consolidating recordings originally released under his moralistic alter ego, this MGM compilation focuses on his solemn, spoken-word recitations and religious parables. The stark performances offer a fascinating counterpoint to his upbeat jukebox hits, revealing the deep spiritual conflict central to his artistry.
