Album Notes & Community Reviews

This early Sue Records compilation crucially documents the incredibly raw, overwhelmingly intense R&B power that defined the duo's early revue before their transition to Phil Spector's lavish pop productions. Heavily anchored by Tina Turner's fiercely passionate, screaming vocal delivery and Ike's remarkably tight band arrangements, the collection serves as a blistering snapshot of their formidable, deeply influential early-60s R&B sound.
