Album Notes & Community Reviews

Often hailed by critics as the greatest box set ever assembled, 'Star Time' is an exhaustive, four-disc chronological masterclass detailing the invention and evolution of funk. It comprehensively maps James Brown's transition from a standard 1950s R&B crooner into a relentless, polyrhythmic force of nature emphasizing 'the One'. The exhaustive collection is an absolute cornerstone for understanding the rhythmic foundations of modern dance music and hip-hop.
