Album Notes & Community Reviews

Issued for the centenary of Morton's birth, this set gathers his Victor sessions with the Red Hot Peppers, produced for reissue by Orrin Keepnews. It preserves landmarks such as 'Black Bottom Stomp' and 'The Pearls', the records on which Morton fused ragtime form with New Orleans ensemble improvisation.
