The Harder They Come

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the companion to the groundbreaking Jamaican crime film of the same name, this soundtrack was single-handedly responsible for introducing reggae music to a vast international audience. Anchored by several of Jimmy Cliff's most defiant and optimistic anthems, the collection also features essential early rocksteady and ska cuts from artists like The Maytals and Desmond Dekker. It remains one of the most culturally significant soundtracks in cinematic history.
