Album Notes & Community Reviews
Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, written in the 1850s after the crisis of Schumann's illness and first performed in 1859. Its symphonic scale and turbulent first movement announced the young composer against the expectations of the concerto tradition.
