Album Notes & Community Reviews
Compiled and rush-released by Sam Phillips shortly after the star artist defected to a rival major label, this collection gathers unreleased outtakes and successful early singles. The material remains deeply rooted in the sparse, echo-drenched rockabilly sound of his early Memphis recordings, featuring the trademark boom-chicka-boom rhythm of the Tennessee Two. Despite its origins as a cash-in release, it features historically crucial tracks that defined his initial rise to fame.
