Album Notes & Community Reviews

Intended to largely replace the classic 1981 'Substance' compilation, this updated retrospective provides a deeply cohesive summary of the band's brief, monolithic catalog. Featuring their most monumental tracks entirely remastered, it heavily emphasizes the icy, atmospheric production techniques of Martin Hannett. The release successfully introduced their profound post-punk desolation to a new generation of alternative music fans.
