Substance

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Substance' gathers Joy Division's essential non-album singles, B-sides, and EP tracks, presenting a comprehensive overview of the band's brief but profoundly influential lifespan. Featuring monumental tracks like 'Transmission' and 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', the collection highlights Ian Curtis's bleak lyricism set against Peter Hook's distinctive basslines. It stands as a vital companion piece to their two studio albums, capturing their raw transition from punk to atmospheric gothic rock.
