Cosmic Tape Experiments 1979 - 1987

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Restores the early, incredibly rare cassette recordings of the ambient pioneer and zither master, recorded just before his mainstream breakthrough with Brian Eno. The extended, trance-inducing tracks explore the cosmic, percussive possibilities of the open-tuned zither and primitive drum machines, resulting in profoundly spiritual, lo-fi meditative suites. It established a vital context for the breadth and depth of his visionary acoustic-electronic synthesis.
