Album Notes & Community Reviews

At Bill Quinn's Gold Star studio in Houston, Hopkins cut these sides for a hundred dollars a song in cash, signing away his royalties in the bargain. Arhoolie's twenty four track collection draws on the 1947 to 1950 sessions that produced 'Short Haired Woman' and his signature talking blues style.
