Album Notes & Community Reviews

This compilation gathers the guitarist's twenties recordings for Okeh, the label he joined after winning a Saint Louis blues contest whose prize was a recording contract. His twelve string guitar solos on sides like 'Steppin' on the Blues' and 'She's Making Whoopee in Hell Tonight' later influenced Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian and T-Bone Walker.
