Album Notes & Community Reviews
This Yazoo anthology collects twenty-three Memphis Jug Band performances from the band's Victor and Okeh sessions of the late 1920s, including 'Stealin', Stealin'' and 'On the Road Again'. Will Shade's ensemble, built on jug, harmonica, kazoo and guitar, defined the Memphis jug band sound that jug revivalists and skiffle groups later adopted wholesale.
