Album Notes & Community Reviews
Thirteen sides cut for OKeh in Memphis and New York preserve the whole of Hurt's pre-war recording career, produced for reissue by Lawrence Cohn in the Roots N' Blues series. His fingerpicked guitar and soft singing on 'Avalon Blues' and 'Frankie' had made him a favorite of the folk revival that rediscovered him four decades later.
