Album Notes & Community Reviews

Gathering non-album tracks, obscure 7-inch singles, and EP cuts from the band's prolific late-90s era, 'Building Nothing Out of Something' functions as a remarkably cohesive standalone record. It captures Isaac Brock's hyper-anxious, philosophical lyricism backed by sprawling, tense guitar dynamics. Often revered equally with their proper studio albums, it is a crucial map of Modest Mouse's evolution leading up to their commercial breakthrough.
