Album Notes & Community Reviews

Acting as a direct sequel to the highly successful 1966 compilation, this Chess Records release digs even deeper into the unissued archives of the Chicago blues king. The collection uniquely focuses on highly intimate, stripped-down sessions from 1948 and 1950, featuring bare-bones instrumentation that heavily emphasizes his incredibly expressive, rural Delta origins over the heavily amplified electric sound that would later define his career.
