A retrospective of twenty-five 78 rpm sides, 'King of the Klezmer Clarinet' gathers recordings Naftule Brandwein made mainly between 1922 and 1926, with a few from 1941, remastered under the production of klezmer historian Henry Sapoznik. Its programme includes 'Der Terk in America', 'Heiser Bulgar' and 'Naftule spielt far dem rebin', preserving the improvisational clarinet style that later revivalists including David Krakauer and Alicia Svigals cite as a formative influence.
