The Frozen Borderline: 1968-1970 cover art

An exhaustively expanded double-disc reissue combining the Velvet Underground affiliate's two bleakest, most demanding avant-folk masterpieces: 'The Marble Index' and 'Desertshore'. Produced by John Cale, the recordings feature her haunting, heavily-accented baritone accompanied primarily by the droning, wheezing notes of a harmonium. The collection includes previously unreleased outtakes, further solidifying her legacy as an uncompromising pioneer of gothic and neoclassical aesthetics.
