End on End
by Rites of Spring
Combining their legendary 1985 self-titled LP with a subsequent 7-inch EP and an unreleased track, 'End on End' is the complete discography of the band frequently credited with inventing 'emo'. Rites of Spring retained the blinding speed and aggression of Washington D.C. hardcore but drastically shifted the lyrical focus away from politics toward intense, poetic personal introspection. Frontman Guy Picciotto's raw, emotional delivery effectively permanently altered the trajectory of independent punk music.
