Released as his first full-length project following a prolonged period of intense political radicalization, this compilation gathers a series of standalone singles Wyatt recorded for Rough Trade. The record largely consists of highly idiosyncratic, keyboard-driven covers of international protest songs, folk standards, and a stunning rendition of Elvis Costello's 'Shipbuilding'. The fragile, deeply emotive vocal delivery perfectly contrasts with the fiercely anti-imperialist, socialist themes threaded throughout the collection.
