Album Notes & Community Reviews

Chronologicalizing their initial run of highly successful UK A-sides, 'Once Upon a Time' captures Siouxsie and the Banshees' rapid transition from abrasive punk provocateurs to atmospheric, gothic rock pioneers. Featuring heavily flange-drenched guitars and tribal, hypnotic drumming, the compilation serves as an impeccable primer for the band's influential early era. Driven by Siouxsie Sioux's imperious vocal presence, the collection remains an essential document of the British post-punk movement.
