Album Notes & Community Reviews

The compilation draws on the group's Specialty recordings from March 1951 onward, the sessions that followed Sam Cooke's arrival as replacement for R.H. Harris. Its title track and 'Peace in the Valley' both date from that first 1951 session, and the program also features the later lead voices of Paul Foster and Julius Cheeks, with liner notes by Lee Hildebrand and Opal Nations.
