Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released shortly before his transformative, independent creative period, this collection summarizes the wildly energetic early career of the Motown prodigy. The compilation vividly traces his rapid evolution from the frantic, harmonica-driven live phenomenon of 'Fingertips' toward the increasingly polished, incredibly melodic R&B songwriter who would soon redefine the boundaries of the entire soul genre.
