The Original Talking Union & Other Union Songs

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Gathering pivotal, highly influential recordings originally released in 1941, this collection features the pioneering left-wing folk collective founded by Pete Seeger and Millard Lampell. The unvarnished, communally sung acoustic performances aggressively champion the labor movement, utilizing traditional melodies paired with fierce, pro-union political lyrics. The historically monumental release directly laid the ideological and musical groundwork for the socially conscious urban folk revival of the 1960s.
