Album Notes & Community Reviews

Chronologicalizing the band's incredibly prolific tenure on the Beggars Banquet label, this compilation offers a concentrated blast of The Fall's most accessible, yet still highly abrasive, material. Mark E. Smith's sardonic, stream-of-consciousness poetry is backed by repetitive, jagged art-punk structures that playfully flirted with mainstream pop conventions. It serves as arguably the finest single-disc introduction to the notoriously massive and intimidating catalog of the Manchester post-punk legends.
