Album Notes & Community Reviews

A crucial archival compilation drawing from the group's earliest recordings on the Vee-Jay label. It highlights the deeply influential vocal interplay between Jerry Butler's smooth lead baritone and the delicate tenor of a young Curtis Mayfield. The timeless title track serves as a monumental bridge between 1950s doo-wop and the sophisticated Chicago soul sound that the members would go on to pioneer.
