Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as their first official North American compilation, this release traces the band's rapid, brilliant evolution across their initial two years. The collection seamlessly moves from their aggressively distorted, foundational power-chord anthems like 'You Really Got Me' toward Ray Davies' increasingly sophisticated, highly melodic, and observational pop-rock songwriting that defined their celebrated mid-60s period.
