Originally recorded in a rural Canadian school gymnasium in 1976 and 1977, these wildly unique, echo-drenched renditions of Beach Boys and David Bowie hits by a 60-piece children's choir lay dormant for decades. Championed by outsider music enthusiasts, this compilation finally granted the deeply haunting, off-kilter recordings widespread commercial release. The raw, melancholic purity of the children's voices created an unexpected indie-pop sensation.
