Album Notes & Community Reviews

The set gathers all twenty-two sides Carter and Ralph Stanley cut across four years of sessions, Carter on guitar and lead vocal against Ralph's banjo and high tenor. It preserves their early reading of 'Man of Constant Sorrow', two decades before Ralph's solo version carried the song to a new audience.
