Album Notes & Community Reviews

Documenting the first half of the British group's audacious project to release a limited-edition 7-inch single every month for an entire year, this compilation gathers the A and B-sides from January to June. 'Hit Parade 1' showcases David Gedge's signature frantic, strummed guitars and lovelorn lyricism, capturing the band at the height of their frantic indie-rock powers. The unique release strategy was a massive success, famously resulting in twelve consecutive UK Top 30 hits.
