Album Notes & Community Reviews

Completing Prestige Records' posthumous tribute, this second volume compiles further late 1940s and early 1950s sessions featuring the gifted tenor saxophonist. The recordings underscore his significant role as a transitional stylist who successfully merged the relaxed swing of Lester Young with the harmonic complexity of bebop.
