Headache

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Notorious for its incredibly gruesome original cover art, which was quickly censored, this punishing release finds Steve Albini's outfit sharpening their mechanical aggression. The razor-thin guitar frequencies and relentless drum machine programming are paired with harrowing lyrical narratives exploring violent, grim facets of rural American life. The uncompromising record heavily established the aesthetics of the late-1980s American noise rock underground.
