Racer-X

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Steve Albini's legendary noise-rock outfit violently attacks midwestern American decay through sheets of abrasive, treble-heavy guitar feedback and rigid drum-machine percussion. The lyrical themes delve into obsessive, dark Americana, heavily focusing on car crashes, sociopathy, and rural violence. The uncompromisingly harsh production style became a crucial blueprint for the burgeoning underground noise rock scene of the late 1980s.
