Album Notes & Community Reviews
Emerging from the incredibly fertile post-punk diaspora centered around West Berlin and Nick Cave's Bad Seeds, this six-track mini-album established Simon Bonney's brooding, cinematic vision. 'Just South of Heaven' features Rowland S. Howard's distinctively scraping, feedback-drenched guitar work backing Bonney's poetic, swamp-blues narratives. The deeply atmospheric, Southern Gothic-tinged record proved vital in shaping the sound of the international dark alternative scene.
