An essential early document of the Norwegian scene, this debut EP pioneered a remarkably melodic, synthesizer-heavy iteration of second-wave black metal. Sarnael's prominent, gothic keyboard work drives the compositions, providing a deeply atmospheric and medieval counterpoint to the traditional shrieking vocals and blast beats. It heavily foreshadowed the grand, symphonic style that would soon dominate the genre.
