Album Notes & Community Reviews

Transitioning away from their early synth-driven sound, the former D.C. expats began to codify their signature heavy groove on this crucial EP. 'Tropic of Scorpio' introduces the dual-bass assault that would become the band's hallmark, injecting a sleazy, nocturnal swagger into the rigid structures of post-hardcore. This release effectively bridged the gap between their indie origins and the towering noise rock of their subsequent masterpieces.
