Black Soap

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released as a brief, highly cohesive EP amidst an incredibly prolific run, the young New York rapper continues to define the extremely lo-fi, deeply emotional sound of the sLUms collective. Heavily utilizing incredibly dusty, deeply obscured soul samples and entirely drumless loops, his signature mumbled, profoundly lethargic vocal delivery tackles severe depression and the realities of urban isolation. It acts as a deeply hypnotic, profoundly sad cornerstone of the modern abstract rap renaissance.
