Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging directly from the squalor of the CBGB hardcore matinee scene, the New York trio delivered a punishing, groove-oriented mutation of punk and metal. 'Primitive Origins' relies heavily on Tommy Victor's jagged, rhythmic guitar riffs and an unpolished, industrialized aggression. This brief but intense independent release laid the structural foundations for the groove metal evolution they would pioneer in the next decade.
