Creep

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled entirely by its iconic, self-loathing title track, this release catapulted the Oxford quintet into sudden, overwhelming global stardom. The song's famously jarring, distorted guitar crunches violently interrupt a gentle, melancholic pop progression, perfectly encapsulating the angst-ridden zeitgeist of early 90s alternative rock. The band would famously spend the remainder of the decade creatively reacting against the massive, inescapable shadow of this single.
